Not as strong as some carbonated juices I&#8217;ve tried. A soft fizz. It caressed (rather than <em>attacked<\/em>) my tongue. I liked it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>(Are you new to Sprouts Farmers Market? Check out the summary of <a href=\"https:\/\/snarklesauce.com\/blog\/2025\/03\/16\/my-first-visit-to-sprouts-farmers-market\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"7652\">my first visit during a Grand Opening Event<\/a>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weird chemical smell<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Unfortunately<\/em>, there is some kind of odd odor in my soda. A weird chemical smell. A <em>bad<\/em> smell. Like, rubber? Used tires on a hot highway. Or <em>something<\/em>. Gah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m hoping this is <em>not<\/em> supposed to be there. I don&#8217;t taste it so much as *smell* it, when my nose gets close to the cup. If I take a few sips in succession, I can stop smelling it. But then it returns when I take a break. But there are added pomegranate, apple, and black carrot juice concentrates. <em>And<\/em> also added &#8220;natural flavors.&#8221; I dunno if it could be the &#8220;natural flavors&#8221; that are contributing to the icky chemical smell. That might be better than the alternative. Or it might not.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sophisticated flavor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Minus<\/em> the chemical taste, the flavor is very fruity. A bit like berries with a dash of apple. Whispers of raspberries &amp; cherries. But more complex and nuanced. A slight astringent aftertaste. It has a moderate, pleasant tartness. And an interesting, kiwi-like tingle that persists after sipping. It&#8217;s a sophisticated departure from the typical sparkling juice options. And a whopping 43 grams are &#8220;added sugar.&#8221; Alas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the good news is, you&#8217;d have to drink <em>half<\/em> the bottle (12 ounces) to consume that much. Tastewise, it really isn&#8217;t a <em>particularly<\/em> sweet beverage, compared to other sodas or sparkling juices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am not sure why they designated 12 ounces as a serving, instead of a more reasonable 6-8 ounces. But, whatever. The cream also seems to mask the chemical taste. That&#8217;s a dealbreaker. Assuming it is an unfortunate fluke, I MIGHT give this soda another chance. But if <em>all<\/em> the bottles are like this, then NO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s also loaded with sugar, but so are most Italian Sodas. I appreciate the real juices and complex flavor.
