What can I say? Well, three stores. I tried THREE Aldi locations. No Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies. Maybe they are wildly popular, or maybe they weren&#8217;t stocked in my area. My stomach found this utterly unacceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Yes, I asked a store manager. I was given a vague &#8220;I don&#8217;t know. We don&#8217;t carry every item,&#8221; and that was that. And then \u2014 one glorious day \u2014 I found a SINGLE box&#8230; stuffed haphazardly sideways &#8230;on the wrong shelf. I snatched it up quicker than a duck on a bug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All I can say is, these were worth the wait. They <em>truly<\/em> exceeded my expectations. Let me also add that I seldom relish grocery-store cookies. I will eat them, but I <em>will<\/em> make judgmental faces with every bite. Well, first of all, they should be called CRANBERRY Oatmeal, instead of Oatmeal Cranberry. Because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/foods\/cranberries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cranberries<\/a> are the first ingredient. Yup. A pleasant surprise. These are very fruity cookies, with just the right chewie-tart-tanginess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, I love that these are made with butter (there is non-butter <em>sadness<\/em>, too \u2014 more about that later), and there&#8217;s a crisp caramelly-richness from the brown sugar, with just the slightest whiff of cinnamon. Somehow, these cookies are both. I actually laid awake at night trying to decide if I should call them &#8220;crunchy,&#8221; &#8220;chewy,&#8221; or &#8220;soft.&#8221; And I could not decide. They are a strange (but ideal) mix of all three. The edges are slightly crisp, while the inside is softer, yet full of satisfying chewiness from the oatmeal. Probably the closest to a homemade taste as any store-bought cookie I&#8217;ve had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My only criticism would be that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mashed.com\/1407532\/aldi-fall-cookies-ranked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aldi&#8217;s cookies<\/a> are <em>fairly<\/em> sweet. They were not disgustingly saccharin, but they do possess a strong, rich sweetness. It was more than I wanted. If you prefer &#8220;less sweet&#8221; deserts like I do, you might find them just a tad too sugary. And then it went downhill from there. Not too steeply downhill, but maybe a little drainage ditch-type slump. I am not a fan of margarine, and I definitely <em>despise <\/em>cottonseed oil in my food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am, however, delighted to see that there are no preservatives or artificial dyes or artificial flavors. Yay.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nutrition Facts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A serving is one cookie, and contains 160 calories. There are 6 grams of fat, 1 gram of fiber, and 2 grams of protein per cookie. Out of 15 grams of sugar total, 14 grams are added sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will add that these are &#8220;filling.&#8221; I did not want more than one cookie at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Price &amp; Shelf-Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A 14-ounce box of 10 cookies cost me $2.95. Per cookie, that is 30 cents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expiration date on my cookie box allowed me 12 days to eat these \u2014 which surprised me, given the absence of preservatives. I kept mine in my refrigerator anyway. It took me about 1o days to finish them. They did not lose quality or texture at all \u2014 mine tasted the same at the end of the 10 days as they did in the beginning. <em>Sorcery.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dramatic Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I would 1003.7% buy these cookies again. They are a good value, have &#8220;not terrible&#8221; ingredients, and taste fantastic. Great buy&#8230;<em>if you can find them.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good luck.
