Buying $39 of frozen fish all at once felt like <em>quite<\/em> a commitment. But, fortunately, it ended well.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Sockeye salmon is probably my favorite fish in the whole, wide-world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, I haven\u2019t tried <em>all<\/em> the fish in the whole, wide-world. Not even close. But, of the fish I\u2019ve eaten, sockeye is my favorite. This is wild-caught Alaskan salmon, and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msc.org\/en-us\/what-we-are-doing\/our-approach\/what-is-sustainable-fishing?gad_source=1&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiAhc-sBhCEARIsAOVwHuRZXbV36KOWK0S3JcsU-oamLRXraVQpirIGsLesjljjswbThnWRCEQaApy5EALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">certified sustainable by MSC.<\/a> Compared to other frozen sockeye salmon I have tried, this one has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epicurious.com\/ingredients\/how-to-buy-salmon-at-the-grocery-store-article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the least \u201cfishy\u201d smell, so it appears quite fresh<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>The fillets are thick, and have vibrant color with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/nomanazish\/2022\/06\/26\/the-fisherman-approved-guide-to-buying-and-cooking-salmon\/?sh=2b4364895180\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minimal fat between the fish grain &#8212; a hallmark of quality wild-caught salmon<\/a>. The skins are moist with a pliable, fresh appearance. It\u2019s moist, and flaked nicely &#8212; and even re-heated the next day to taste pretty decent. This is 5.2 ounces of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boursin.com\/product\/garlic-fine-herbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boursin cheese<\/a>, plus 1 large zucchini, plus about 1.5 cups dry pasta (cooked), and one 6-ounce fillet cooked sockeye salmon. Sautee the zucchini in 2 tablespoons butter with salt and pepper for about 2 minutes, then add the hot cooked pasta (with a little pasta water), stir in the Boursin cheese, and flake the salmon into it. Salt and pepper to taste. Each 6 ounce serving has a whopping 38 grams of protein, but only 220 calories, and 8 grams of fat. Honestly, I typically get <em>two<\/em> meals out of each 6-ounce fillet, so that makes it a frugal $1.88 per meal <em>for me<\/em>. Maybe not for you. The non-sale price for this item is currently $39.99 (price checked 1\/7\/26) &#8212; it has increased about 5 dollars since writing this review. At that price, each 6-ounce fillet would cost $5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Math is our friend.
