Here’s what I think of these “Egg-stra Special” Assorted Chocolate Easter Eggs.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

OK, story time. What I really<\/em> wanted was this posh Peter Rabbit Easter Egg from Williams Sonoma<\/a>. It’s filled with fancy-pants Beatrix Potter rabbit-themed treats and silly nonsense. But it costs $70. SEVENTY DOLLARS! And I’m poor. Alas, cruel world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Westley from The Princess Bride would say, “Get used to disappointment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I did what everyone in the singles dating pool is currently doing: I compromised. I bought this wee little carton of Egg-stra Special Assorted Chocolate Eggs from Tony’s Chocolonely<\/a> instead. At less than $6, it was much more my speed. Or my wallet’s speed. Which is a turtle’s crawl right now.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

These are solid eggs.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So, the sad news is, these eggs are all solid. For whatever reason, I thought they were filled <\/em>eggs. Like, a soft filling of some kind. I was looking forward to biting them open and discovering that seductive texture change. But, no. Just solid blocks of chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, after the first eager bite betrayed my expectations, I had a little tantrum at my kitchen table \u2014 unwrapping one egg after another, and stabbing it open with a paring knife, feeling the inevitable gloom of twice-baked chocolatey disappointment wash over me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was like an enraged, chocolate-loving Godzilla. Destroying the egg city, and littering the earth with empty foil wrappers in my wake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ok, not really that dramatic. But sort of. Because, I already<\/em> didn’t get the coveted Peter Rabbit Easter Egg<\/em>. And now this. Tsk! There is only so much food disappointment one cranky person can endure in 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
