Probably shouldn\u2019t buy this.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If y’all haven’t tried Costco\u2019s Kirkland Lemon Blueberry<\/a> loaf yet, you probably should. Or maybe you shouldn’t. Probably shouldn’t. It’s seriously addictive. Whatever unholy combination of “natural and artificial flavorings” they’ve added to this product has convinced my brain to eat as much as I can possibly stuff inside me in one sitting. Beware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The texture is VERY moist, but not soggy. It’s smoother than a muffin, with a fine crumb and silky mouth feel. It’s sweet but not cloying, and the lemon flavor is pleasantly subtle. Personally, I think the loaf tastes homemade and freshly baked because the edges\/crust have a slight crispness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s a lovely texture change on top of the loaf from the streusel crumbles. Although I wish<\/em> the blueberries were more numerous and tangy, they’re fresh and fruity tasting. Sweet, soft blueberries. Big blueberries. Evenly distributed blueberries.* Just not tons of them. Alas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visually, this loaf is attractive enough to serve at an elegant brunch or tea party. The lattice of icing on top adds some fancy flair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Unfortunately, as I worked my way through the loaf, the blueberries became more and more scarce. Toward the end, there were only one or two fragments per slice, which was massively disappointing. Alas. I\u2019ve been catfished!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This dessert comes in an aluminum pan, but I was able to gingerly dislodge the whole thing for serving, which improves the appearance dramatically. However, I think keeping it inside the pan extends the moistness and freshness, and it IS surprisingly easy to slice and serve right out of the pan. The slices hold together remarkably well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
